Curious Clan: A community for smart and curious investors.
My Journey in the Stock Market:
The stock market has always amazed me, and I know I’m not alone—millions of people share this fascination. But here’s the hard truth: 99% of people who try to navigate the stock market struggle. I was one of them for most of my investing journey.
They say mistakes are the best teachers, but in the stock market, they can also be very expensive—especially if you were part of the 2008 financial crash. I was actively investing just before the crash. Like many others, I was thrilled to see my money growing… until it all came crashing down. The impact was devastating. I was so shaken that I quit investing altogether—which, in hindsight, was an even bigger mistake.
Yet, my fascination with the stock market never faded. I made small bets again… and failed again. And once again, I walked away.

Learning the Right Way
It took time, but I decided to reflect on my mistakes. I took the time to truly learn about investing. During this period, I also pursued an MBA from a reputed university, where I developed a strong understanding of finance and stock analysis. I read books, studied the market, and sharpened my approach.
Then came the COVID-19 crash. While most saw it as a financial disaster, I saw an opportunity. By this time, I understood market cycles. Unlike 2008, this crash wasn’t caused by bad companies—it was just bad timing. Many strong companies saw their stock prices plummet, but fundamentally, they remained solid businesses. I didn’t have much money to invest (since I was still pursuing my MBA), but whatever I did invest, I made good profits.
The key lesson? Research matters. Investing in strong, well-researched companies pays off.
